What Is Byrek?

Byrek (pronounced “bee-rek”) is a beloved Albanian specialty made from whisper-thin layers of hand-stretched dough, filled with savory ingredients, and baked until perfectly crisp and golden. It’s flaky, warm, comforting, and endlessly versatile — the kind of food that brings families together and fills a home with amazing aromas. From spinach and feta to meat and onions, each slice is a little taste of Albanian tradition — passed down, perfected, and lovingly made right here in Weymouth.
